Privacy

Your information stays under your control.

ConePal requires a verified account to use its operational tools. Account information is used only to provide and secure the service, and marketing email is always optional.

Information ConePal uses

  • Your email address, used for account verification, sign-in, security messages and password recovery.
  • Your name, required for new accounts and editable later, used as the starting name on iPhone job photos.
  • Your optional marketing-email preference, including when consent was given or withdrawn.
  • Area, road and marker-post selections used in the browser to display map results.
  • Planner inputs used in the browser to calculate sign references.
  • Jobs you choose to save, including the job name, planner inputs, calculated sign locations and the marker-data revision used for the plan.
  • Roadspace references you choose to save, including the captured closure details, source reference, capture time and time saved.
  • Location permission when a user chooses the map location control, attaches a report position, or asks the iPhone app to suggest a place for a job photo.

Saved jobs

Saved jobs are private to your signed-in ConePal account. Active and archived jobs remain stored until you permanently delete them. Deleting the account also removes its saved jobs.

During local development only, if account storage has not yet been applied, ConePal labels the preview clearly and keeps test jobs in that browser instead.

iPhone job photos

The iPhone app stamps a photo with your chosen name, date, time and place on the device. You can change these details before saving. Job Photos adds the stamped copy to your iPhone Photos only when you choose Save; the photo is not uploaded to ConePal by this feature.

Saved Roadspace references

Saved Roadspace references are private to your signed-in ConePal account. They keep the information captured when you saved the reference and do not refresh automatically when the shared closure feed changes. They remain stored until you remove them or your account is deleted.

Favourites and recent work

Up to 100 favourites are stored privately with your account until you remove them from Recent work or delete your account. This version no longer records or displays recent-marker history. Earlier history can be removed on request and is removed when your account is deleted. Favourites are functional account data, separate from optional analytics.

Reports, support email and retention

Data reports include the reference you provide, your observations and optional evidence. ConePal retains the reported data context and review decision so corrections can be checked. Authorised reviewers can read data reports; account-deletion requests are visible only to the owner.

Emails sent to support@conepal.co.uk, including your contact details, subject and message, are handled through ConePal’s support inbox and email provider, Resend. Messages are kept while handling the enquiry and any necessary follow-up. Closed messages and identifying details should be reviewed and removed when no longer needed; the inbox does not currently apply an automatic expiry period. Backups and email-provider copies may remain under their separate retention arrangements.

Use the account page to request account deletion, or email support@conepal.co.uk if you cannot sign in. Requests are reviewed manually; submitting one does not immediately delete your account. Operational correction history may be retained without the account link so the marker audit trail remains understandable. Ask support about removal of identifying details in messages or reports.

Account security

ConePal uses Supabase Authentication to store your account name, verify email addresses, securely store password hashes and manage sign-in sessions. ConePal cannot view your password. You can change your name, password and marketing preference from the account page.

Marketing email

ConePal sends marketing email only when you actively choose the optional email preference. The choice is not required to create an account or use the service. You can withdraw it at any time from your account or through an unsubscribe link in a marketing message.

Account-linked usage analytics

When you are signed in and use ConePal, ConePal records limited product events such as the page visited, selecting a marker, completing a job plan, searching Roadspace, saving or reopening work, completing a traffic count, downloading a count PDF, submitting a customer report, finding a safe-taper candidate, or recovering from a failed save or saved-work request. These events are linked to your account so ConePal can understand genuine and returning use. Page visits are reported separately from meaningful actions. We record a broad device category (such as iPhone, Android or desktop) and whether you used the website or iPhone/iPad app. The native app records signed-in app visits. The private owner dashboard displays your account name, email and these categories; it does not store your raw browser user-agent or device model. ConePal does not store job names or job identifiers, your IP address, precise device fingerprint, marker reference, coordinates or search text in its analytics records.

Global Privacy Control is respected. Analytics are also disabled on development and preview versions of ConePal, and you can disable them for this browser below.

External services

Supabase provides ConePal’s authentication and database services. Navigation links open Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze with the selected coordinates. Those services apply their own privacy terms.

Do not include passwords, identity documents or other sensitive personal information in reports or evidence.
